9th Apr - Only 2 weeks away from the third round of the D1NZ championship! To be held at Pukekohe Park Raceway and for a general entry price of only $10!!!! This is a once off price to get spectators to experience the best drifting action this side of Japan!
Also Fanga has a new site up and going with a few specs on his cars etc, be sure to check it out. Fangadan.com
Gaz also has a site although it is waiting to be updated. Still check it as it has specs on his new S14.5 powerhouse! Gazwhiter.co.nz
6th Apr - The new Driftcorp website is still under construction, we hope to bring you tons of content plus event calendar, how to's, for sale section and news letters... Stay tuned!
30th Mar - What a weekend! Some intense drifting action to be had down at the Waikaraka Park Raceway yesterday with the second round of the D1NZ National Drifting Series. The Rookies came out and impressed the crowds with there complete disregard for their cars and then the D1 drivers proceeded to turn it up a few notches by demonstrating what it means to be a top drifter in this country. Millimeters were separating these guys from the outside barriers in an attempt to put on the best drift show possible! Be sure to check out the D1NZ.com site tomorrow arvo for all the results...
21st Mar - Trickytune has tuned up Fangas brand new SR powered Silvia with a whopping 365 rwkW! Tricky reduced the boost to 19psi to a conservative 342kW (yeah right) while still maintaining solid torque numbers. Expect to see it run at Waikaraka next weekend!
20th Mar - Only 1 week until the Waikaraka Super Round! Tell all your mates to make plans to get to this event as it will be a ripper! Rain or shine, covered seating will keep our spectators entertained all day Sunday, 29th March~
17th Mar - Unfortunately negotiations have ended for now between Parkside (NZ Drift) and D1NZ with the goal of creating a single series. Time was pressing for Parkside's sponsors and D1NZ could not agree to the terms set down by Parkside in the best interests of NZ drifting. It is still something we all wish to work towards and we will do so hopefully for the 2010 series.
6th Mar - Sha has been working on the 180 trying to get it up and running for Round 2 at Waikaraka but it's looking tight for time.
Fanga Dan is also working over time to complete a new S15 shell, complete with a new larger Masterpower turbo and plug in Link computer. Still looking to retain the 300+rwkw (nearly 500 engine hp) with the SR20 but with much improved effeciency and mid-range torque.
Some of you may have spotted the ad in the lastest Performance Car magazine regarding the merge between D1NZ and Parkside to create one super series. Things are looking good at this point and the 2-day Manfeild round has been confirmed. This will be the first combined event but effectively it will be the 3rd points round of the proposed 7 round championship series. The drivers will be able to drop their lowest scoring round to compete for the overall title and a shot at the Worlds late 2009.
Also had to check out Pedey's blog for the lastest laugh. Coverage of the crazy S.I. wet t' comp with a special guest apperance by Sam Gee. Cash Money Geezus!

2nd Mar - Be sure to check out the all new D1NZ website!
17th Feb - Dargaville Burnout Comp Pics Here
12th Feb - Dargaville burnout comp on this Saturday 14th, $20 to gain entry with all money going into the huge prize pool of $10k.
The 2nd Round of the Championship is to commence on the 28th and 29th on March. The venue is to be the Waikaraka Speedway located in central Auckland where a tight exciting course is laid out. There will be plenty of trade stands and drift cars to check out with all NZ's best drifters scheduled to be there...More to come as it is confirmed.
2nd Feb - The SR is ready to be picked up from Tony Whiters infamous workshop in Dargaville. The mint stock bottom end is still retained to keep costs down while ARP studs are fitted with a thicker head gasket, Tomei Poncams and JUN camgears to dial them back in after the head rises from the thicker head gasket. Looking for approximately 400ps with a T3 turbo and Motec computer tuned by Tricky.
27th Jan - Well things are happening. D1NZ is meeting with Parkside Publishing to discuss the possibility of merging the two events into one mega event! It is only early days yet but the fact that there are even talks going on is a positive sign. I will keep you posted as things become solid enough to report...
19th Jan - What a weekend! Gaz Whiter taking it out in a final battle with Mad Mike to be remembered for sure! For a bit more detail check the 2009 D1NZ Round 1 Report from Manfeild
15th Jan - It's all go for the weekends drift action. Half the boys are already down in Palmerston North, rearing to go! To all the pikers, I will update the results asap hopefully Sunday night or Mon morn so you won't feel too left out :-(
12th Jan - Just getting some JUN cam gears and ARP head studs for the SR20 and came across Fortyone! Awesome site with some sick, 'real' aftermarket tuning parts straight from Japan. Check it!
Only days away from the first round now, I can just imagine how nervous all the rookies will be right about now! Speaking of being stressed, just had Chuckie in at the workshop stealing Palmers lurky RB25DE after he snapped a few rods bolts on a test run for this weekend. (On our private test track of course). That should be all go and ready for Mark Tricky to tune mid week and then trek down town to Palmy. D1NZ PRESS RELEASE HERE
Sam G's liner is all pretty'd up and retuned ready for action as is Fanga's S15. Gaz has his new S14.5 back from the states and will be keen to give it a stab after having to run his old detuned S14 at the last event. Who knows, he might even drive it down as he just got it road reg'd!!! Sick puppy...
Will be good to catch up with ol Richards after his stint in Europe/England too although I'm not sure he will run his Cef even though it is back.
So I'll do a quick update on Thurs but I guess I'll see everyone there anyways? If not, keep posted for some results as soon as I can slide them up!
5th Jan 2009! - Well thats almost another decade down the hatch! The older you get the faster they go! Here's a couple of new years shots...
Things are looking good for the first round of D1NZ at manfield in 11 days. We look forward to bringing you the start of the 7th New Zealand Drifting Championship Season in full Splendivision color!
26th Dec - The 'drivers union' have agreed that they wish to meet with the promoters of the D1NZ drift series to get their views on a possible merger with the PCar series. Meeting is penciled for Manfeild 16th Jan '09.
Well not much else happening atm apart from your usual holiday stuff. I wish everyone a safe holiday period and be good on the roads ay!
22nd Dec - Got the Cima to the right ride height for now, what a mish! Had a bit of rim shaving going on in the back as per pic. Gave the gaurd a massage so hopefully they won't make too much more contact as it trys to swollow the rim! Chassis rail is 55mm off the deck.
The drivers who attended the meeting with PCar have formed a driver committee as such and are planning to meet with D1NZ next to feel out a possible solution to the drivers woes.
First they have to gauge whether all of the drivers want only one series or if they are mayby happy with two, then get the two series organisers together to discuss any possibilities of merging the events or working together more closely to everyones benifit.
In my opinion it would be awesome to have this happen but it seems like such a stretch based on numerous previous attempts to do this exact thing in the past. But one thing is for certain, we shall try again! :-)
19th Dec - PCar had a small meeting last night to decide the fate of drifting in NZ. The objective changed from contracts to finding out what it is that the drivers want and once again it was agreed by the 10 or so drivers who attended that there needs to be only one series in effect. Question is where to from here???
15th Dec - Well got most of the Cima done after a very intensive weekends work. Looks good but needs sway bar mounts fab'd up for the bottom arms and some new bottom ball joints also before she is all go. Also got a lot of fab work done on the 180sx we are building up for Sha to drive next year. I will be creating a page full of pics etc very shortly so keep posted!
In other news PCar have released their 09 track dates which seem to clash with the D1NZ 09 Final due to take place at Hampton Downs just north of Hamilton. When asked about the clash PCar marketing man Mike White told D1 that he plans to make the drivers choose which series they support in an effort to run D1 out of town, so to speak. Mike will meet with the top drivers shortly to pitch an exclusivity contract meaning they will not be able to compete at the first ever drift day at Hampton with D1NZ... more to come~
10th Dec - Going to go hard out on me old Cima tomorrow, getting rid of all the s**t active suspension and fitting up some cheap but effective stock S13 sus. Have to see how it pans out but I'm looking for a 3-4" drop in ride height! Plus improved ride quality believe it or not!! Hopefully should look a little like this one...
Update 8th Dec
Sam G's take on the MVP Slideshow here!
Had a good couple days work on the cars, Sha's 180 is starting to take shape with all the fabrication going on. Exhaust manifold weighs 12kgs! 20kgs with turbo and gate! We have a lot more to do this weekend, I'll flick a few pics up early next week.
Update 1st Dec
Bung and the boys hosted the 3rd annual Paddock Party and it did not dissapoint! There was plenty of carnage to be had with the demo derby, a huge bonfire and a sound system that could easily destroy small villages! (Lucky for Whanga's we didn't max it out)
Update 26th Nov
Gaz's car putted out :-( Not much to report there
Fanga came in 9th place but got pipped at the post by Cole Armstrong again after engine trouble meant he could not keep pace with the 600hp monster.
Sam G hit the sweeper tapped! Unfortunately it was a few kms faster than in practice and he ran out of legs in forth gear with a 3.9:1 diff! The result was a spectacular understeer straight into the armco under the judges feet! Falconer leans over to give Sam G the "zero " sign so Sam G gives him the "one" sign back!!!! Along with the rest of the jeering crowd, quite entertaining to say the least.
That was of course until Hamish Marsden made Sam G look good by writing his car off into the concrete barrier on the return trip between battles in the semi-finals! Won't be living that one down in a hurry dude...
Mad Mike had his sick new RX8 out but she was a tad standard and didn't quite perform up to spec. No doubt he will get it sorted!
Update 22nd Nov
Off to the infamous Pukekohe Park Raceway on Sun to see the boys compete at the final PCar round. Gaz landed back from the states today and have traveled 2 hours back up north to collect the old S14 to bring back down.
Fanga has fitted up a new kit to the mighty Commodore after smashing the old one up pretty good at the D1NZ demo night held at Waikaraka in Auckland last month. He is driving it down to Auckland (on the road!!) as I type this, to get Brown Brothers graphics to do a full new sticker job! Should look sick! Will keep you posted.
Mean while the crew is towing his S15 down so he can compete at Puke on Sun.
Sam G has fitted and new oil pump and fuel pump to the RB30 powered R32 and looks ready to throw some revs at it on Sunday also. Should be a sick days drifting despite the usual delays I'm sure...
Update 20th Nov
Initial concept of the site has been decided upon, looking wicked! Just found a short review of the Red Bull event on speedhunters.com, check it http://speedhunters.com/archive/2008/11/18/event-gt-gt-red-bull-top-32-report.aspx
Update 18th Nov
The boys have completed the single biggest drift comp in history! Gaz ended up 21st overall, Carl and Mike did even better, Mike making it to the top 8! Congratulations guys. I will be posting up an interview with Gaz in the next few weeks detailing the experience. Stay tuned.
Also we will have some coverage of the Final round of the other drift series from PCar. Ruiterman has it won but there might still be some interesting battles fought!
Update 14th Nov
Just a quick note to let you all know we are currently in production of the new Driftcorp site! It promises heaps of content including an event calendar, up to date results, profiles and interviews with our drivers, car builds, car checks and more!
Stay posted, oh and best of luck to Gaz Whiter and the other NZ boys due to compete at the Red Bull world drifting champs this weekend...
