D1NZ Pukekohe Pushes Drivers To Their Max!

Enjoy some of my pics and links to yesterdays D1NZ event held at Puke.

Gaz Whiter had the top qualifying spot after laying down a massive run, Josh Coote from Australia came in at second spot after some problems on Friday. Curt Whittaker had the fastest entry speed for qualifying with a 195km/h although he was unable to pair it with a solid enough run to repeat his top qualifying performance of late.

Some insane single runs from Bennett, Coote, Slim Templeman, Redward, Gee Mutch but when it came time for the battles it was apparent that everyone was a little out of practice battling at Puke.

Coote collected Fanga in the drivers rear door after giving the Commy an extremely good run for it's money, Bennett also crashed out against Fanga upon entering the sweeper which was quite interesting!!

There were a fair amount of breakages too with Gee Mutch advancing right through to 5th place with bye runs as the remainder of the bottom 4 could not run. Gaz Whiter broken rocker again, Slim Templeman broken diff and Cole Armstrong missing gears and broken diff/axle.

In the finals Fanga drove the Commy past it's limits with a 192km/h entry against Ruiterman but in the end the Ginger Ninja had far too much mid track pace for the weight and grip of the Commy. Carl took it out convincingly in the end 6/4, 7/3 for a well deserved win on his home track!

1st - Carl Ruiterman, 2nd - Fanga Dan Woolhouse, 3rd - Curt Whittaker, 4th - Andrew Redward
