Sportbike Stunt Riding

Wheelie Phat

For the past 10 months Justin Rood has been doing work, trying to learn how to stunt ride a sport bike. Learning from the best NZ has to offer, Jason Deeming from Asphalt Assault has taken him under his wing and is showing Justin what he needs to know. This alone has cut the learning time down incredibly which is great!

There is no organisation or competition in NZ for stunt riding and to be honest that is one of the attractive things about it. Drifting was so much cooler before all of the hype and followers jumped on the band wagon. There has been spectators heard saying that the sport would be nothing without them watching and to some degree they are right, the sport would not be as pumped up and marketed, but is that really such a bad thing?

There is something to be said about people that can do something just for the sake of doing it, just for the internal enjoyment they get from it. Not wanting to be "the man", or world champion. Granted there are some people that thrive on competiton, but it does tend to ruin a good thing sometimes...
