Old Boys

Sam Groombridge

Gearbox slaying 330kW RB30 R32 Liner, just an all out hit wagon laying the smack down! Sam enjoys short walks on the beach, a good plum dackery and wasting tyres into oblivion whist doing drift demos and the like!

Justin Rood

2004 New Zealand D1NZ Drift King - 240kW Nissan 180SX, SR20.

Reece McBreen

With a new S13 in the build, we touch base with McDreamey to find out where the scene is headed for him.

Shaun Yearbury

Shauny aka CrazyLegs ran a C33, RB25 with high mount Garrett Turbo. 300kW, Tein suspension. Nice clean set-up.

Just aquired Bung's old AE86 ready to be turbo'd. Trying to get him to hold off as I believe it's extremely important to learn how to master the 86 N/A first. Quite a handful as Shauny discovered at Taupo...

Emile Stevenson

RB25 Powered S13

Craig Palmer

Craigs like to be different, 300km/h Nissan Stagea is a good start! Done on the cheap using a rb25de engine, massive turbo and water/meth injection to keep it all together at 700+hp! Just a lil bit crazy if you ask me...

JT Wharerau

Jairus is so OG he won the inaugural 2003 D1NZ Championship back when it was a bunch of mates just skidding up the tracks! Those days were so layed back and enjoyable that the sport grew rapidally with other quickly taking to the atmosphere we had unintentioanly created.

Some of JT's achievements also include showing the fresh scene in Oz how it's done while winning a few events there and also putting in a good effort in the States, running Formula D.

Iconic cars he built include his 4 Door Turbs EG Civic show car way back in 1999 as well as the A31 Cefiro he campaigned in 2003. After that there was the K-Style S13 and of course the FD he ran in D1NZ in 2006 and in the States.

JT is still currently commentating at the D1NZ events and building and selling drift spec Nissans and the such on the side.

Bung

The black sheep so to speak, the only driver to lean towards the natural heritage of Toyota and the AE86 in particular. A very fun and cheap car to drive hard, you always learnt something driving this car.

After doing  a few massive annual dance parties Bung has now got the itch to travel and broaden his horizons. But don't worry! The 86 is still in the family, being on-sold to Shauny to fang when he's back in NZ from the mines each year...

Shamus

Driftcorp Fabrication Specialist - Now also residing in Oz, Perth to be specific. He has picked himself up a little bargain S13, fitted it out with sus etc and is having a ball with it over there.

Sha helped us with such builds as JT's pristine FD3S that he drove in Formula D in the States and most of our D1NZ Competition cars here in NZ also. Damn you Sha, my TIG welding leaves a bit to be desired still haha!!!

Smokey

Smokey built the first 'Cefline' on NZ soil and has always been an inspirational guy to be around. Frequenting D1NZ events in 2004 mainly, Smokey is now residing in Melbourne with his young family.
